Summer School of Theology
June 24 - June 28
Inspired by the best of the Catholic biblical and theological tradition and drawing out practical implications for ministry and the life of faith today, this year’s Summer School of Theology (SST) explores hope and what giving reasons for it—or making sense of it—could look like in the world today.
Counterintuitively, this year’s Summer School of Theology will begin at the end with what may seem ominous, a Catholic
perspective on the end times, but which, in truth, is about hope; it urges hope. Building on this foundation, the SST continues by exploring biblical resources for hope. It then explores the Eucharist, including Eucharistic adoration, as nourishment for hope along the way. It presents Mary as a model for hope. It concludes by looking at creation, a theme that has roots in the
Bible, that is central to the thought of great Catholic theologians and mystics through the ages, and that invites renewed commitment today.
