College of Consultors

The College of Consultors is a diocesan body of six to 12 priests, chosen by the bishop from among the members of the diocesan council of priests. Canon law requires the bishop to consult with his college of consultors before making certain decisions. When a diocese becomes vacant, the college of consultors is to elect a diocesan administrator within eight days unless the Holy See provides otherwise.
