An Inspiring Conference for Couples Comes to Florida!
October 30, 2014 • Diocese of St. Augustine

Together in Holiness, a national conference series for Catholic couples is coming to Orlando, Fla. on Nov. 15, 2014. The half-day event aims to inspire couples and families – not just to survive – but to thrive together in holiness.

The morning includes Mass, insightful presentations on marriage and family, Eucharistic Adoration, the sacrament of reconciliation and conversation with the one you love.

Together in Holiness takes its name from the inspiration of Saint John Paul II when he said God’s plan for marriage and family life “must take place in ‘togetherness’, through the human experience of love between husband and wife, between parents and children, lived in the Spirit of Christ.” (Familiaris Consortio, no. 15) The series is an initiative of the John Paul II Foundation for Life and Family, a national Catholic apostolate, which has the mission of proclaiming the gospel of life and forming families as intimate communities of love.

Speakers for the conference include the dynamic Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers, evangelist and national radio host of From the Rooftops; Dennis Johnson Jr., secretary for Evangelization and Family Life for the Diocese of Orlando; and Chris and Sarah Stravitsch from the John Paul II Foundation. With this year’s theme emphasizing the importance of praying together in the home, the three presentations will explore why the Catholic Church teaches that every family is a domestic church, offer insights on prayer, and provide practical guidance for praying with your spouse and children or grandchildren.

Father Charlie Mitchell, who is hosting Together in Holiness at his parish in Altamonte Springs, has great hope for it. “At St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Parish we believe every marriage is a great gift to the church. We are so delighted to collaborate with the John Paul II Foundation for Life and Family as we host the first Together in Holiness event. Hundreds of couples will come together for prayer and Catholic inspiration. Come and join us!”

The event runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15. Registration is $45 for a couple or $25 for an individual. Breakfast, lunch and free childcare are included.
