St. Francis House Homeless Shelter and Soup Kitchen

St. Francis House, Inc. provides emergency food, temporary shelter and related support services in a safe, secure environment for people in Alachua County, for whatever reason, find themselves homeless and hungry. Our staff and volunteers introduce guests to many community resources available to resolve problems underlying their crisis. St. Francis House provides these services in a supportive environment where people can begin to manage their problems effectively and re-establish themselves as productive members of the community.

St. Francis Soup Kitchen & Clothing Center

Diocesan and interfaith groups provide free meals and give away emergency food baskets from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. weekly, and clothing from 8:00 to 9:45 a.m. the first and third Saturdays of each month. Tickets for clothing are distributed at 7:00 a.m. on those days.

St. Francis Soup Kitchen and Emergency Shelter

The soup kitchen serves about 200 hot lunches each day. Meals are served daily at noon and 7:00 p.m. There is also a migrant worker feeding program from November to May. The food pantry provides food baskets to families and individuals in need. The emergency shelter is the only full-time emergency shelter between Jacksonville and Daytona Beach; serving St. Johns, Flagler, Clay and Putnam counties. The center also provides referrals for housing, food, health care, education, career development, bill payment and other support services.
