Plan to Attend St. Augustine’s Spanish Wine Festival and Support Catholic Charities

The 3rd Annual St. Augustine Spanish Wine Festival, slated for Sept. 9-13, is a series of events revolving around world-class Spanish wines and cuisine that provides residents and visitors a chance to reconnect with the city’s Spanish roots.

While participants will savor the fine Spanish wine and foods during the 5-day festival, they will be doing so with the intention of helping several local charities, including Catholic Charities St. Augustine Regional Office.

On Friday, Sept. 12, Catholic Charities St. Augustine Regional Office will be the benefactors of the festival’s Cava Reception and Dinner, from 6 – 10:30 p.m., at The Treasury on the Plaza in the heart of downtown St. Augustine in the historic district. This elegant evening of authentic Spanish food, music, dance and wine, begins with cavas and Spanish-inspired hors d’oeuvres, then transition into a sit-down dinner where each course is served with a different Spanish wine. Each guest will receive a commemorative wine glass.

Tickets are $125 each or $1,500 for a table. Table sponsors will have first right of refusal for the 2015 event honoring the King and Queen of Spain.

Located at 3940 Lewis Speedway in the A.D. Davis Building, Catholic Charities St. Augustine Regional Office serves St. Johns, Putnam and Flagler Counties.

Since 1975, the St. Augustine Regional Office of Catholic Charities has grown into a multi-faceted agency that served more than 10,000 people in the surrounding communities last year, primarily families with minor children as well as senior citizens. Their programs and services include emergency assistance with rent or mortgage and utility bills, individual, family and mental health counseling, emergency food assistance and adoptions. Services are offered to all people regardless of religious affiliation, gender, race or ethnic origin.

Now more than ever, families in crisis are looking for assistance to pay their monthly bills. They are struggling to keep food on the table for their children. They are looking for help. In order to continue serving our growing clientele, we need the support of caring citizens. Please help us to help them. Few experiences are more satisfying than helping a child or family through rough times.
