The 4th annual Rosary Congress, coordinated by the Human Life and Dignity Office of the Diocese of St. Augustine, is Sept. 23-30. The congress is a continual praying of the rosary in adoration for seven days and nights at participating parishes to place our country, state, cities and families within the protective heart of Mary. Bishop Erik Pohlmeier will celebrate the opening Mass for the Rosary Congress on Sept. 23 at noon at the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche at Mission Nombre de Dios in St. Augustine.

Eight parishes, representing the five deaneries of the diocese, will host activities to help grow our faith in Jesus through Mary, including nocturnal adoration, processions and Masses to pray for our youth, the infirmed, the poor and others.

The first Rosary Congress for the diocese was held in 2019 to pray for the success of the 33rd annual Florida Respect Life Conference that was hosted by the Diocese of St. Augustine and modeled after the first Rosary Congress in 1979 in Poland,” said May Oliver, director of the Human Life and Dignity Office.

The congress is held on the last week of September leading up to Respect Life Month in October. All are invited to pray for special intentions at each of the parishes participating and, to console the heart of Jesus, in reparation for our sins, for the healing of the victims of abuse, for the end of abortion and for peace in the world.

Twenty-four hours of continuous adoration will begin at the conclusion of each Mass, with the rosary prayed each hour. For details or to sign up for an adoration hour, email May Oliver at moliver@dosafl.com. For a complete schedule of the congress in participating parishes, click here.
