The Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops (FCCB) issued a statement about the involvement of Florida in the transporting of migrants from Texas to Martha’s Vineyard calling the action “disconcerting”. In part, the statement says: “Immigration is not just a political issue, but a fundamental human and moral issue. For immigrants are not faceless numbers but human persons. They are our brothers and sisters.”

In the article, San Antonio Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller’s Twitter post from Sept.18 stated, “To use migrants and refugees as pawns offends God, destroys society and shows how low individuals can (stoop) for personal gains.”
