The Cathedral Basilica of Saint Augustine begins new weekday devotions June 8

Solemn Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament leads off new Monday through Friday devotions at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Augustine – America’s First Catholic Parish, beginning Monday, June 8. The Cathedral Basilica is located at 38 Cathedral Place on the north side of the Plaza de la Constitución.

Father Tom Willis, rector, said the weekday devotions also will include the praying of the Angelus and of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary. On Fridays, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be prayed prior to Benediction.

The schedule is as follows:

  • Solemn Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in the Cathedral Basilica after the 7 a.m. Mass, Monday through Friday.
  • During exposition, the Angelus and rosary will be prayed at noon, Monday through Friday. Exposition will continue to 3 p.m. when Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will be celebrated.
  • On Fridays, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be prayed at at 2:45 p.m. prior to Benediction.

The VIC/Parking Facility is four blocks north of the Cathedral Basilica. Parking on King Street and Cathedral Place, adjacent to the city’s Plaza, is free Monday through Saturday until 10 a.m.
