Bishop Felipe Estévez blesses effort to build new Guardian Catholic School on Jacksonville Northside
November 10, 2016 • Diocese of St. Augustine

At a Nov. 9 groundbreaking ceremony, Bishop Felipe Estévez blessed the efforts of so many individuals that have made it possible for a new $10 million Guardian Catholic School to be built on Jacksonville’s Northside.

The new school combines two critical, high-impact Jacksonville schools into one location – St. Pius V and Holy Rosary Catholic schools. The two schools with rich histories have required expensive maintenance and emergency repairs and are not well suited for education and technology for the 21st century. The new school will increase student capacity for both schools from 400 to 500 students and will include a gymnasium. It will be located at 4920 Brentwood Ave. – the current site of Holy Rosary School. To learn more, visit www.guardiancatholicschools.org.
