Catholic Charities’ 13th annual Festival d’Vine is Friday, Nov. 18, at Treaty Oak Park in the San Marco area of Jacksonville, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The event serves as one of the primary fundraisers for Catholic Charities Jacksonville Regional Office of the Diocese of St. Augustine, with proceeds assisting the agency in reaching out to the community with emergency assistance.
A fun evening awaits guests featuring more than 100 types of wines for tasting, food selections from 25 area restaurants, and beer from five Jacksonville-based craft breweries. The Chris Thomas Band will also be a part of the event, providing music for guests to enjoy throughout the evening. And the Jacksonville Jaguars’ The Roar and others from the organization will be there to spread the spirit!
“Festival d’Vine is always a wonderful time,” said Lauren Weedon Hopkins, director for Jacksonville Regional Office of Catholic Charities. “We’re incredibly thankful for the support of our sponsors and participating vendors; the event would not be a success without them!”
Local companies participating in the fundraiser include Bernie’s Wine Stop, bb’s, The Brick Restaurant, Indochine, Mojo’s BBQ, Moxie Kitchen and Cocktails, Sweet Pete’s, Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits, Stacole Fine Wines, Terra Sancta Trading Company, and many more!
A full list of participating vendors and sponsors can be found on the Catholic Charities website at www.ccbjax.org.
Catholic Charities Jacksonville provides seven major programs, including Emergency Assistance. They are the largest provider of emergency financial assistance in our community.
The goal of the Emergency Assistance program is to prevent homelessness by helping families who are facing eviction or the loss of utilities due to a recent financial crisis. Short-term assistance with rent, mortgage payments, utilities and food is provided. All proceeds raised by the Festival d’Vine fundraiser will support those efforts.
Last year, the Emergency Assistance program served more 13,000 individuals and distributed more than 135,000 pounds of food to those in need in the community.
Tickets are $75 for individuals and $50 for those 21-35 years of age. Sponsorships are still available and run from $500 to $10,000. Please call Kelly Kunkel at (904) 899-5505 or visit www.ccbjax.org for more information.
