The Global Church Prays for Vocations
May 3, 2022 • Diocese of St. Augustine

The World Day of Prayer for Vocations is celebrated this year on Sunday, May 8. While appreciating all vocations, the Catholic Church concentrates its attention this day on vocations to the ordained ministries (priesthood and diaconate), consecrated life in all its forms (men and women religious life, societies of apostolic life, consecrated virginity), secular institutes in their diversity of services and membership, and to the missionary life.

Father Clay Ludwig, who serves in the vocation ministry for the diocese, has produced a message for our diocesan community to spark interest in young men and women who may have a desire to serve the church in ordained ministry or religious life.

If you know of someone in your parish or community that you think has a vocation, share the video with them. You can also encourage them to attend the upcoming Vocation Day of Reflection on June 10, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche at Mission Nombre de Dios in St. Augustine.
