The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is Jan. 18-25, and this year’s theme is “Justice, Only Justice, You Shall Pursue” (Deut. 16:20).

There are two events to celebrate Christian unity in the diocese. First, the 10^th Flagler County Ecumenical Celebration of Unity in Prayer and Song is Saturday, Jan. 19, from noon to 2 p.m. at Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church in Flagler Beach. Seven church choirs from various denominations in Flagler Beach, Palm Coast, and Bunnell will perform. For details visit www.flagler-churches-together.info/.

The second, the 6^th annual Ecumenical Vespers on Thursday, Jan. 24, at 6:00 p.m. at Southside United Methodist Church in Jacksonville. Pastor Bruce Jones of the Southside UMC will host, with Bishop Kenneth H. Carter, Jr. of the Florida Conference of the UMC as presider and Rev. Jay Therrell, North East Superintendent of the Florida Conference of the UMC as master of ceremony. For details visit www.ecumenicalvespers.org.
