Catholic Charities Lake City Region Thanksgiving Basket Food Drive
November 19, 2021 • Diocese of St. Augustine

For the 22nd year, Catholic Charities Lake City Region is pleased to announce 565 Thanksgiving Baskets were distributed Thursday, Nov. 18.

Dianna Swisher, the Columbia County School District’s Volunteer and Marketing Coordinator, worked hand-in-hand with Suzanne Edwards, Catholic Charities Regional Director, and her entire team, implementing the collection of canned goods within the school system. Public and Private schools and individual classes were inspired, and challenges started being issued from one school or classroom to the other. The results were nothing short of amazing.

The Columbia County businesses continue to collect canned items for the Thanksgiving Baskets each year. Their dedication to helping those less fortunate is such a blessing. More directly, Suzanne Edwards goes on to explain the support received by the businesses during this collection period to people in need makes an impact in our community.

Catholic Charities specifically wants to praise the individuals and civic organizations for their donations of canned goods and gift cards. They were crucial in helping to meet and exceed the needs of Columbia County residents during this Thanksgiving Basket Food Drive.

Continually, Catholic Charities Lake City Region has been at the forefront of always working towards “Transforming Lives” and with your help, this was accomplished during our Thanksgiving Basket Food Drive.  They are committed to serving those in need through our food pantry, rent and utility assistance and homeless services 365 days a year.
