3rd Friday Concert in Gainesville
September 15 @ 7:00 pm
“Ever Ancient, Ever New: Sacred Music from the Last Millenium” is a concert of Sacred Choral Music featuring 24 singers from across the state of Florida and led by guest conductor, Zachary Landress – an Orlando-based music director and composer whose work was recently featured on EWTN. This event is expected to bring together musicians, music-lovers, clergy and students from across north-central Florida and introduce new ways of approaching liturgical music in local Catholic parishes. The concert will include traditional favorites like William Byrd’s “Ave Verum Corpus” and Giullame Dufay’s “Ave Maris Stella” as well as work by contemporary composers like Ola Gjeilo’s “Ave Generosa” and a “Kyrie” by Martin O’Donnell of Halo fame. There is an evening prayer at 6:40 p.m. followed by the concert at 7 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
