Youth Mental Health First Aid Training in St. Augustine

Catholic Charities of Central Florida will be hosting an 8 hour training called Youth Mental Health First Aid on September 4th and 6th 2019. This 8 hour training will take place over 2 days, 4 hours per day, from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm at the United Way of St. Johns County 117 Bridge Street, St. Augustine, FL 32085. Continental breakfast will be served. Attendance at both sessions are mandatory to receive full credit for the course.

Cost is $10 and covers food and text books (due to a grant from the American Red Cross). Payment can be made in cash or by check made out to Catholic Charities of Central Florida and collected at the training. Credit and debit cards not accepted at this time.

Rebuilding When Your Relationship Ends

“Rebuilding When Your Relationship Ends,” an educational seminar created by Dr. Bruce Fisher, is being sponsored by the Office of Family Life this Fall. This 10-week program is very beneficial to the healing process for those adjusting to the end of a love relationship through separation, divorce, abandonment, or even death.

Classes are held on Thursday evenings, 7-9pm, at Holy Family Parish Life Center, 9800 Baymeadows Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32256, September 12, 2019 through November 14, 2019. Cost is $60.00. Rise Up Jacksonville

Rise Up is back in Jacksonville on September 28th, and we want to extend an invitation to everyone, especially young people. On Saturday, September 28th, Rise Up presents an evening with Food Trucks, a FREE concert by recording artists Austin & Lindsey Adamec and an inspirational message by national Catholic speaker Katie Prejean McGrady, author of Follow and Room 24. Food starts at 4:30 p.m. and doors to the theater open at 6:00pm for a preshow with the main event kicking off at 6:30pm and the event will end with an after-party from 8:45 – 9:30. All this takes place at the Parker Theater at the Bolles School on Bartram Road. Our General Admission tickets are free. Tickets are required to be admittance into the theater and available at riseupyc.org. You won’t want to miss this!

Blessing of Homeschool Families Mass and Dinner

Bishop Estévez would like to invite all homeschool families of the Diocese of St. Augustine to a special Mass and dinner on Wednesday, September 11 at Holy Family Parish, 9800 Baymeadows Road in Jacksonville. Mass will be at 5 p.m. and a dinner will follow in the parish hall. Father Peter Atkin-Otiko, Judicial Vicar of the diocese, will be the main celebrant. Please find the registration jotform below. Run Alpha! Alpha in a Catholic Context

The next Run Alpha! will be held on Wednesday, August 21 at Blessed Trinity Parish in the parish hall at 10472 Beach Blvd. Doors will open at 8:30 am and the day will go until 3:00 pm. An overview of Alpha, including how to start and run an Alpha, will be shared. Parish teams are encouraged to attend.
