Come out for the San Jose Car and Truck Show Saturday, April 6 from 9 a.m. to noon at Dupont Station to raise funds for the Bishop John J. Snyder Community Center at nearby San Jose Apartments – an HUD-subsidize property for low-income seniors of all faiths.

The Bishop Snyder Community Center, located between HUD-assisted San Jose Apartments I and II, was named in honor of Bishop John J. Snyder. Many of the activities and services for the senior residents are held at the center. The complex is managed by Family Housing Management Company for the Diocese of St. Augustine.

Raising funds for the center is a necessity since no funding is received from HUD. In addition to funding activities, resources are needed for utilities, supplies and a replacement reserve.

There were plenty of shiny cars and generous support at the 2018 show held at the Dupont Station shopping center on April 1, as $4,180 was raised for the Bishop John J. Snyder Community Center at San Jose Apartments I and II on Galicia Road. The show has raised a total of $9,500 in the three years it has taken place.

Also, more than $1,000 worth of raffle prizes was given away. And, tasty treats prepared by several of the residents, complemented by Krispy Kreme donuts, generated sweet donations.

Admission is free and there will be a DJ, food and prizes!  Check out 2019 Buick, GMC, Hyundai, Genesis and Lincoln models. Entry fee for vehicles is $25. To enter a vehicle fill out the form below. For more information, contact Joe DeSalvo at jdesalvo@jacksonville.com or call (904) 359-4366.
