Seeking Catholics With Leadership Skills

Have you considered volunteering in your parish, or with a diocesan ministry, or in Catholic schools? Do you have leadership skills, but feel you could use more training? The Ministry Formation Program (MFP), a lay ecclesial ministry program of the Diocese of St. Augustine is seeking Catholics who feel called to serve in lay ministry.

The program is for anyone who wants to be a recognized leader within the diocese, including parishes and Catholic schools.  It is also for Catholics who are already serving in a position but need training. MFP is the minimum requirement for many roles in the diocese.

MFP is a three-year comprehensive program of study based on the USCCB document on lay ministry, Co-Workers in the Vineyard of the Lord (USCCB 2005). It consists of formation in four areas: Human, Spiritual, Intellectual and Pastoral.

As you are discerning the program, you may want to discuss it with your pastor. The program requires a pastor’s endorsement to apply. Take a moment and schedule an appointment to meet with your pastor.
