Relic of St. Jean de Brebeuf (Skull)

Description: On February 22, St. Augustine Church and Catholic Student Center, 1738 W. University Ave., in Gainesville is hosting the relic of St. Jean de Brebeuf, SJ. (skull). Jean de Brébeuf, became the first Jesuit missionary in Huronia (present-day Canada) in 1626. Known for his large stature and gentle character, he aimed to spread the Christian faith among the native Huron people.

Veneration will be available to the public from 1:15 -3:45 p.m. At 4 p.m. there will be Holy Hour and Confessions followed by Mass at 5:30 p.m. At 6:30 p.m. the Jesuits will give a talk about the Saint and the relics.
